Peer Review

Scientific manuscripts that pass editorial screening undergo external double-blind peer review: authors do not know reviewer identities, and reviewers do not receive author identities.

1. Editorial screening: the editor checks scope, structure, originality, ethics, and formal requirements.
2. Reviewer selection: as a general rule, two external specialists with relevant expertise and no conflicts of interest are invited.
3. Review report: reviewers assess originality, methods, results, discussion, coherence, references, and contribution.
4. Decision: the editor considers the reports and communicates rejection, minor revision, major revision, or acceptance.
5. Revision: authors submit a corrected version and point-by-point response. A third review may be requested when reports conflict.

The expected external review period is four to eight weeks, depending on reviewer availability and revision rounds. This timeframe does not guarantee acceptance or publication.

Confidentiality and conflicts

Manuscripts are confidential documents. Reviewers must decline when a conflict may compromise independence. They may not use manuscript information or upload it to external artificial intelligence services that do not guarantee confidentiality.
